The Original Night Light

There are few things more classically loved than gazing at the stars from the comfort of your moms Buick LeSabre with the cutie you met eating a corn dog, at the state fair. Its hard not to love the nostalgic combination of stars, cars, and skylines. In most places its simply knows as "Lookout Point". This is one instance where bringing your past to the present is a good thing(minus the Buick LeSabre)Living in Southern California gives us access to some of the best Lookout Points in the country. You get to experience enchanting views that combine twinkling skyscrapers, mountain ridges,  and a star kissed night sky. All you're missing is your personal Pandora soundtrack. Though if you're only using the free version, the loud Sonic Burger ads every 3 songs can stain the mood a bit.

One of the best Lookout Points is inside The Angeles National Forest, just a few miles north of Pasadena. As you meander up Angeles Crest Highway you'll come to a large cliff side lot about 2 miles in.  From there you get a spectacular view that stretches all the way to downtown LA. A great date combo would be dinner in Pasadena, a few treats from' Lette Macarons, and drive a few miles to The Angeles Forest to get your gaze on. And please use your discretion. This isn't ideal for your first date with someone you met online. First "Online" dates and Forests go together like Liquor and Lohan. I'm just saying; a criminal record is lurking nearby.

To get there take the 210 West and use exit 20 for CA-2/Angeles Crest Hwy toward La CaƱada Flintridge. Turn right and its 2.7 miles ahead on your right.

See the car in the satellite image. Ok so it's no secret
